From Furyu's high-quality hobby brand "F:NEX", "Rei Ayanami" from "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition" has been made into a Japanese doll figure. As a special item to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Evangelion, the long-established Japanese doll maker "Yoshitoku" and "F:NEX" have teamed up to create this. The quiet and dignified presence characteristic of "Rei Ayanami" is expressed through luxurious tailoring using genuine kimono fabric. The color scheme, based on blue and silver reminiscent of her plugsuit, is accented with red and salmon pink, resulting in a finish that conveys both the transparency characteristic of "Rei" and the elegant splendor unique to a kimono. The costume prototype was created by doll artist "Ayumi Uyama". While referencing the movements of Japanese dance, the character's personality has been translated into the graceful kimono figure unique to Japanese doll figures. Profile Ayumi Uyama A collector of Showa-era girls' goods and lifestyle items, her collection of poseable dolls and French dolls is the largest in Japan. The kimono fabric was produced in cooperation with Nishimura Shoji Shoten, a long-established textile merchant in Kyoto. The obi (sash) uses gold brocade produced by Morisan, a Nishijin weaving company in Kyoto. While featuring classic auspicious patterns, each piece highlights the individuality of the wearer.
