Yoshitoku x F:NEX "Japanese Doll Figure" 18th release is "2B"

From FuRyu's high-quality hobby brand "F:NEX" comes a Japanese doll figure of "2B" from "NieR:Automata Ver1.1a".

The loosely-fitted kimono brings out 2B's unique beauty, and the movement at her feet creates a more glamorous silhouette. The black-toned kimono is harmoniously matched with the sheer knee-high tights and textured boots. The hair accessory and large obi knot are accents, and the overall composition of the pose and the way she holds her weapon are also carefully considered.

The costume prototype was created by doll artist Ayumi Uyama. The kimono is worn in a bold, casual style, with the image of 2B bravely facing the enemy with her beloved sword in hand. In keeping with the gothic atmosphere of her usual outfit, a black one-piece dress replaces the undergarment, creating a two-tone black and silver color scheme. While maintaining a cool appearance, the flowing hem and sleeves give a sense of 2B's inner strength. Based on the concept, Ayumi has brilliantly elevated the kimono to an elegant look.

The fabric for the long-sleeved kimono and obi is brocade, a traditional textile. Brocade is a traditional textile that is woven with gold and silver threads and gold and silver foil, and is woven at a high density to create a three-dimensional, glossy texture with various patterns. For the long-sleeved kimono, we used a solid black brocade called "mukkinmono" that does not use gold thread, in keeping with the image of the gothic black clothing that is the symbol of 2B. The pattern is "kumotatewaku," a traditional Yusoku pattern that is said to depict steam rising and clouds bubbling up. It is also considered an auspicious pattern that combines "cloud air" and "fortune," and we wished happiness for her as she lives in the cycle of reincarnation.

A gold brocade obi adds an accent to the gorgeous look

The obi belt is a reversal of the black color, with a silver-white brocade that matches the hair color. The pattern depicts waves crashing strongly against a cliff, and is meant to express inner feelings and strength. The obi belt fabric, which adds an accent to 2B's dignified posture, is made by Bando Shoten, a leading Kyoto textile merchant.
