From Furyu's high-quality hobby brand F:NEX comes a Japanese doll figure of Kaname Madoka from the film Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica: Puella Magi Madoka Magica [New Edition] Rebellion Story.

The figure tilts its head and smiles, giving it a bewitching cuteness. By crossing its legs, it is posed in a way that gives it a sense of movement even while standing still. The pearl-painted ball and hair accessory are not only intricately sculpted, but are also painted the same color as the kimono to create a sense of unity.

Costume prototype by doll artist Ayumi Uyama -sensei

The costume prototype was created by doll artist Ayumi Uyama -sensei. The kimono is a mix of Japanese and Western styles, as if retaining a trace of her appearance when transformed into a magical girl. Instead of a juban, it is coordinated with a blouse and long skirt, and this is expressed by using an abundance of lace at the collar and hem. The gorgeous brocade obi and elegant obi fastener with pearl-like decorations complete the gorgeous yet calm and beautiful outfit.

The fabric of the furisode is dyed by the kata-yuzen technique. Madoka's design is pink, with a Western-style vibrant rose finished in the traditional Japanese yuzen style, giving it an elegant and gorgeous look. On the other hand, Homura's design is based on deep purple, with various flowers and butterflies, giving it a gorgeous yet calm atmosphere. The clothes worn by the two are dyed to express flow. These fabrics were dyed by Mori-san, a Nishijin weaver in Kyoto, at a yuzen factory in Kyoto. In general yuzen, a stencil with a carved pattern is placed on top of white fabric, and only the part with the pattern is dyed with each color. One stencil is used for each color, and this process is repeated several times to make a pattern stand out. The color is then fixed by steaming, the excess dye is washed away, and finally, the wrinkles are smoothed out while applying heat. The deep colors that cannot be expressed by machines are dyed by hand, with great effort.

To add an accent to the gorgeous furisode, an exotic and elegant patterned brocade was chosen for the obi fabric, with different colors for Madoka and Homura. Brocade is a traditional fabric woven with gold and silver threads and gold and silver foil. It is woven at a high density to achieve a glossy texture, and although it is small, it has the thickness and vivid colors of a real obi fabric. The brocade pattern is a proud product of Banto Shoten, a leading Kyoto textile merchant.
